The Shirley Foundation, based in the UK, was established in 1996 by Steve Shirley, who gave a substantial endowment to establish a charitable trust fund.
The fund is used to support many projects, especially relating to autism, through grants and sometimes loans. For example, the Foundation funded the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), based at the University of Oxford.[1]
